Frequently asked questions
If you have a question that isn't answered on this page, please drop us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
How many brownies are in a box?
Each box contains 6 generously sized brownies.
How big are my brownies?
All brownies are approximately 6cm x 6cm and 2.5cm deep (depth may vary due to toppings).
When will my order arrive?
We offer 2 postage options which can be selected at checkout, as follows:
– Standard Tracked. Delivery in 2-4 working days from dispatch date, link to track your order is sent once they have been posted.
– Next Day Delivery Tracked. Delivery in 1-2 working days from dispatch date, link to track your order is sent once they have been posted.
Please note, these delivery times are aims and are not guaranteed. The brownies will keep for at least 2 weeks so they have plenty of time for them to reach their new home. Please allow 3 working days for your order to be dispatched as we bake all brownies to order. Please allow 5 working days from dispatch date for your order to arrive before contacting us. We use Hermes to deliver all orders.
Can I order a box for a specific date?
Yes, our dispatch calendar at the checkout will allow you to choose your DISPATCH date, if you are buying ahead as a gift for a birthday, for example. Please note that this is the date your brownies will leave the bakery. Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee a specific delivery date as we do not use a guaranteed service, so please allow a few days for them to arrive. All our orders are delivered via Royal Mail (see question above for more info on this). Each order usually takes between 2-3 working days from being placed to being sent out (unless you have selected a dispatch date further in the future), to allow time to freshly bake, cool and pack your brownies to order.
Where do you deliver?
We deliver nationwide in the UK, mainland only. Please get in touch for deliveries to Northern and Republic of Ireland. We are unable to ship any further afield due to the perishable nature of the brownies.
How do the subscriptions work?
Each month we release a Small Town Subscription box of 3 new and exclusive flavours that aren't available to purchase anywhere else on the website. These launch on the 1st of each month and are posted out to our Small Town Subscribers that week. We offer a range of subscriptions depending on your budget - choose from the following options:
- 3 Month
- 6 Month
Each subscription option includes free standard postage for every month as well as a card gift voucher in a teal envelope. We can include a message on the voucher if you would like it to be delivered direct to the recipient, or we can leave it blank for your own message and deliver to you instead. Just input the message (if needed) when selecting the product and add your desired address at checkout.
The recipient then has 6 months to activate their subscription - to do so, they just need to email us at email@example.com with their voucher number and we'll sort the rest.
How will the brownies be packaged?
All brownies are hand cut and wrapped in greaseproof paper, which is sealed with a sticker. A small information card (including best before date, ingredients and allergens) is placed on top alongside a handwritten message card (if chosen), then snugly packed into a robust cardboard gift box. The box is then popped into a plastic mailer bag for added protection during delivery. All packaging including the plastic mailer bag is 100% recyclable. Your receipt is emailed to you rather than being printed as many orders placed are for gifts.
How long will the brownies keep for?
The brownies and blondies will keep for at least 2 weeks. We recommend keeping them in an airtight container to keep them fresh. Pop them in the fridge to make them extra fudgy. They also freeze beautifully for up to 3 months.
What ingredients do you use?
We use 100% unsalted butter and local free range eggs. Our chocolate is the finest quality Belgian chocolate.
Do you cater for allergens/dietary requirements?
Vegetarian – All our brownies, unless otherwise specified, are suitable for vegetarians. The only ingredient we currently use that isn’t vegetarian is the marshmallow in our Rocky Road brownies.
Vegan – yes! We now have a Vegan brownie range including 3 flavours and a mixed selection - you can find them here.
Gluten Free – we are pleased to be able to offer our Baked Without Gluten range, including 3 brownie flavours and a mixed box option.
Please note: whilst we have taken every precaution to avoid gluten in this product range, they are made in a kitchen that handles ingredients that contain gluten. Therefore cross contamination is possible and may contain gluten traces. Not suitable for those with coeliac disease.
Allergies – we work in an environment that handles Cereals containing Gluten, Egg, Milk, Nuts, Peanuts, Soya, Sulphites and are unable to cater for these allergies due to working in a small kitchen. All our allergens are displayed on each product, however they are not suitable for coeliacs due to the risk of cross-contamination with gluten flour. Allergens including peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, gluten and soya are all used in the kitchen, so we cannot guarantee that traces of these allergens are not present in any product.
How should the brownies be served?
This is all a matter of personal taste - some like them extra fudgy straight from the fridge, others love theirs heated in the microwave served with ice cream. If heating in the microwave, we recommend no longer than 10-15 seconds.
